Commuting Solutions’ Audrey DeBarros Receives National Award for Excellence in Transportation Demand Management

Audrey DeBarros, Executive Director of Commuting Solutions recently accepted the award for Excellence in Advocacy at the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) 38th Annual International Conference in Denver, Colorado. This award was one of 13 distributed at the association’s 2024 ACT National Awards, which honor those performing exemplary work in Transportation Demand Management (TDM).

Audrey earned recognition for outstanding advocacy efforts in her work for Commuting Solutions, a transportation management organization (TMO) for the northwest metro region.  Other winners include individuals and organizations committed to improving commuter and community mobility to create a better journey for all.

“TDM professionals work hard each day to provide reliable and equitable transportation options in their communities. Too many go unrecognized, and ACT is committed to uplifting the significant impact they’ve made,” said David McMaster, President of the Association for Commuter Transportation. “Congratulations to these winners for leading the field forward by example!”

Additional awardees include:

  • Arise Collective

Audrey not only manages the internal functions of Commuting Solutions, but leads the organization’s advocacy efforts, financial planning, coalition building, and everything in between.  Her efforts are focused on expanding partnerships, coalition and member base to improve the regional transportation system. Her leadership with local, regional and state officials results in positive change and the efficient movement of people, not vehicles.

“A successful TDM initiative addresses transportation challenges and establishes the groundwork for more accessible and efficient travel,” said David Straus, Executive Director of the Association for Commuter Transportation. “Our 2024 winners have done just that and have made a measurable impact on the commutes, mobility, and quality of life of those around them. Each one has driven outstanding achievement in the field that we are truly proud to celebrate.”
