About the NW MCC
The mission of the Northwest Mayors & Commissioners Coalition (NW MCC), which was founded in 1999 as a coalition of local governments in Colorado’s northwest metro region, is to speak with one voice regarding regional transportation investment priorities and to retain federal and state lobbyists. It also has long had the support of all city councils, trustees, and commissioners for the Northwest Mobility Study (NAMS) recommendations. Commuting Solutions has served as a convener and has represented the region’s business and civic communities for more than two decades.
Policy Agenda
Each year the NW MCC and Commuting Solutions formulate a policy agenda [PDF, 745.73 KB] to define the year’s priorities and better enable representatives of the coalition to collaboratively advocate for transportation policy and funding in the upcoming year, supporting legislation that aligns with these goals.To learn more about the NW MCC, please reach out to Margery Gavin at margery@commutingsolutions.org
Highlights of the 2025 Policy Agenda
- Multimodal Arterial Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)/Enhanced Bus Service Projects:
- CO 119 between Boulder and Longmont,
- CO 7 between Brighton and Boulder
- US 287 connecting Longmont, Lafayette, Erie and Broomfield to the US 36 BRT corridor
- CO 42/95th Street connecting Erie to the US287/VCO 7 BRT corridors
- South Boulder Road connecting Lafayette and Louisville to Boulder
- 28th Street (US 36)/Broadway(CO 93) connecting CO 119 BRT, US 36 BRT and South Boulder Road BRT and other local and regional transit routes to Boulder Junction/Downtown Boulder Station
- 120th Avenue between US 36 & Broomfield Station and Adams County Government Center, providing connections to the Westminster I-25 Wagon Road Park N Ride and the N-Line Station at Eastlake
