Microtransit Services in the Northwest Metro Region
Microtransit Services in the Northwest Metro Region
What is Microtransit?
Microtransit is an on-demand public transportation service that uses smaller vehicles like vans or shuttles—perfect for short trips around town or connecting to nearby transit stops. These services help fill gaps where fixed-route transit may not reach, making it easier to complete your journey. Rides are typically shared and easy to book through a mobile app or by phone, offering a convenient way to travel when and where you need it.
A growing number of microtransit services are now available in the northwest metro region, including specialized paratransit options featuring fully accessible vehicles.
RTD FlexRide
RTD’s FlexRide is a call-ahead, on-demand service providing curb-to-curb transportation within designated service areas. The service provides extended bus service to make connections between RTD stations, medical offices, business parks, and other local destinations. FlexRide is available to anyone within these service areas.
FlexRide Fares and Reservations
You can pre-schedule a ride up to 30 days in advance, have a recurring reservation, or request a ride up to 15 minutes before you need to travel. You can make reservations multiple ways either through the RTD FlexRide app, on the RTD website, or by calling their phone number at 303-299-6000 (option 2).
You can purchase RTD tickets and passes on your mobile device using the MyRide App, at sales outlets, online, or at participating grocery stores.
Flexride fares follow the standard RTD structure, including free fares for those with an EcoPass through your community or employer. Youth under 19 and active U.S. Military also ride free.
Know Before You Go
FlexRide is designed as a convenient first-and-last-mile solution—not a door-to-door personal ride. Whether heading from home to a transit station, transferring between stops, or traveling from a station to destination, FlexRide helps complete the journey. Service is open to everyone and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each FlexRide bus is equipped with a front-mounted bike rack that holds up to two bicycles.
Check the RTD FlexRide website for bus service times, as they vary by service area:
