Pedal, Smile, Repeat. That’s what you’ll do on your way to work (or wherever you’re going) on June 26! Celebrate Bike to Work Day with tens of thousands of commuters and cyclists across the metro area as you swap your car for a ride on two wheels. Bike to Work Day is an annual event organized by Way to Go, a program of the Denver Regional Council of Governments, in partnership with seven regional transportation management associations.
Ride For Your Health, Your Wallet, The Environment. Ride For The Snacks.
The benefits of commuting by bicycle are plentiful! Not only does biking improve your overall health and reduce stress levels, but there are financial benefits as well. You’ll save money on gas and put fewer miles on your car, translating to less frequent maintenance bills. Riding a bike also helps reduce congestion on the roads and pollutants in the air. If those reasons don’t pump you (or your bike tires) up, consider the free breakfast and giveaways you’ll find on Bike To Work Day…keep reading!
This is not your ordinary commute.
A very special part of Bike to Work Day is the community involvement. Along many area bike routes, you’ll find a variety of stations set up to support riders.
Bike To Work Day stations provide a range of services, including water, coffee, breakfast, giveaways, and parties! In fact, you should probably adjust your departure time accordingly, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the festivities and connect with fellow riders along your way.
A map of registered stations is available on the DRCOG website.
