Thank you to those who joined us on Jan. 7 for the 12th Legislative Breakfast, virtually! We convened elected officials, the Northwest Mayors & Commissioners Coalition, business leaders and transportation partners for a morning of advocacy in advance of the 2021 Legislative Session.

The Legislative Breakfast features presentations from distinguished thought leaders and highlights Commuting Solutions and the Northwest Mayors & Commissioners Coalition legislative priorities. Our Legislative Breakfast is a key mechanism for furthering federal, state and regional progress and collaboration.

Keynote Speaker:

Alice Jackson Headshot The keynote speaker is Alice Jackson, Xcel Energy-Colorado President. Previously, she was the Area Vice President of the Strategic Revenue Initiatives, leading the company’s revenue growth strategy. She has more than 17 years of experience in the energy industry.

The Emcee:Chris Wood Headshot

The Emcee for the 12th Legislative Breakfast is Chris Wood, Editor, and Publisher of BizWest. He is the former publisher of the Boulder County Business Report and the Northern Colorado Business Report. He serves as the manager of BizWest Media LLC and is the former managing editor of the Denver Business Journal.

Rob Zuccaro HeadshotAdditional Speakers:

Rob Zuccaro is Commuting Solutions’ Executive Board Chairman and is the Director of Planning and Building Safety for the City of Louisville. He has been the director since March 2016.Mayor Brian Bagley Headshot


Mayor Brian Bagley serves the City of Longmont. He was re-elected to the position in November 2019. He currently serves as the liaison to the city on the U.S. 36 Mayors and Commissioners Coalition.

Congressman Joe Neguse

Congressman Joe Neguse serves the Second District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Currently, he serves on the House Judiciary Committee, the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Select Committee of the Climate Crisis.

Governor Jared Polis


Governor Jared Polis is the 43rd governor of Colorado. He took office in January 2019 after being elected in November 2018. He previously served one term on the Colorado State Board of Education and five terms as the U.S. House of Representatives serving the second district.

Senator Faith WinterSenator Faith Winter represents District 24 in Colorado. She is the Chair of the Transportation & Energy Committee as well as the Human Services Committee. She previously served on the Colorado House of Representatives and Westminster City Council.Representative Matt Gray


Representative Matt Gray represents District 33. He currently serves as the Vice-Chair for the Transportation & Local Government Committee as well as serving on the Finance Committee.

Shoshana LewShoshana Lew is the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Transportation. She leads the planning for and addressing of Colorado’s transportation needs and oversees 3,000 employees statewide. She’s worked for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation as the Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary for budget and programs for the U.S. Department of Transportation.
